Industrial Use Cases for Quantum Computing – Apply Now!
The Fraunhofer Quantum Computing Testing and Consulting Center INQUBATOR offers companies agile, low-threshold, and cost-effective access to quantum computing—without the need for their own hardware investments.
As part of this call, companies can submit industrially relevant use cases. The selected use cases will then be developed in collaboration with the four participating Fraunhofer Institutes—IAF, IAO, ITWM, and IPA—translated into solutions, and tested on state-of-the-art quantum hardware.
What INQUBATOR offers
- Access to various hardware platforms for customized solutions and the comparison of different technologies
- Co-development of an end-to-end approach (from problem understanding through algorithm development to hardware testing) with Fraunhofer expertise
- Potential application prospects for the developed quantum algorithms (e.g., additional use cases within the company, further development, market prospects)
Specific implementation plans are developed for each use case. This opens up new opportunities for industry (especially for partners who have not yet used quantum computing) to contribute their own problems and to efficiently solve complex problems together in the long term.
The focus is on investigating innovative quantum computing approaches in an economic context, with an emphasis on algorithms considered particularly promising, which are tested and validated on current quantum computers within the project.
Submission Requirements
Please submit a brief, structured description of your use case by August 31, 2026, that addresses the following criteria:
- Problem & Use Case: Description of the underlying problem and its industrial relevance (including, where applicable, information on benchmarks or an existing traditional reference solution and its shortcomings)
- Implementation & Impact: Outline of potential implementation prospects (transferability to other applications, scalability, and strategic contribution)
- Ressources & Preconditions: description of your motivation and willingness to cooperate, including the scope of personnel involvement, relevant data, and any prior knowledge (not a requirement) on the part of your company or the participating partners
